Who Has Assisted in Your Gain?

One of my favorite music artists, Mihali, sings, "So many people have assisted in my gain, One day I hope I make them proud of me," in Carved Lines. It's a line that makes by brain explode with fireworks.

I often think of interdependency and how it is a beautiful partnership and system if rooted in love. So many people have lifted each of us up and we've stood on the shoulders of those who have come before or were beside us. 

Have you wondered if those who have assisted in your gain are proud of you?

Have you thanked them?

Such a simple lyric that showcases the interconnectedness of being human and offers a chance to simply recognize and thank those who have supported us along the way. 

It's so easy to be caught in the momentum of propelling ourselves forward in whichever direction we choose but there's so much value in pause, recognition and expressed gratitude.
