Do You Ever Wonder About Your Life Purpose?

I am the Student

Maybe you're searching among the branches for what only appears in the roots.

I am happiest when I am a student.

I've never not been a student. School is always in session!

A student of the world, a student of life, a student of learning how to navigate the depths of emotions, a student of accepting limitations.

But in a few short days, I will be a real student again. A student of yoga philosophy, something that I've been studying independently, but like all wisdom traditions, you get to a point where you realize you need a teacher. Some wisdom simply is not DIY style.

Ordering the required reading texts left me giddy and grateful. It threw me back to my days as a college kid and the stress of affording and securing the course texts on time. A memory I was surprised by and didn't realize was hanging out inside of me for so long.

This fall, instead of frat parties, I'll be meditating outside of class.

Instead of ordering the egg and cheese croissant at the food truck on Temple's campus, I'll be sipping herbal tea.

Instead of learning about the world "out there" and how I can make my mark on it, I'll be exploring the landscape of my soul.

I have some simmering secret concerns about what this coursework may stir up in me. Perhaps it's only now that I'm prepared to move in that direction. I thought the time wasn't right before, the cost wasn't right before, the schedule wasn't right before...yet my levels of readiness may have been what wasn't right.

As the 2025 eclipses dance across my 12/6 axis, the doorway has appeared.

xo,

Marjorie
