Astrology Lunch Notes: Upcoming Transits of the Moon
I've started putting post-it notes in my daughter's lunch box that are mini moon themed horoscopes. The ritual of checking in on the lunar placement, taking a minute to consider how it may be reflected today and then translating it to 6th grade speak is now part of my morning routine.

The Upcoming Transits of the Moon
This week will see the Moon pass through Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Let's look more closely.
Wednesday, May 6 - Thursday, May 7 - The Moon transits earthy Capricorn. Traditionally seen as her "exile," Capricorn is a bit rigid for the fluctuating luminary. But with that brings some stability and hard work. Moon through Capricorn transits may ask us to bring form to what has been a bit elusive and offer some much-needed endurance when it's time to roll-up our sleeves.
Consider:
- What does hard work mean to me and how might I embrace it during this time?
- Where is Capricorn in my chart? This house topic may feel a bit more conducive to my focus.
Friday, May 8 - Saturday, May 9 - The 3rd Quarter Moon passes through airy Aquarius and meets up with Pluto while she's at it. What are your plans this weekend? If Aquarius is your 4th house, this might mean cleaning out the garage or basement. No matter where Aquarius falls for you, themes of shedding and composting are in the air.
Consider:
- Are there any ideas that it's time to let go of, even if they served me well before?
- Making a commitment to holding onto hope but letting the vision evolve with time.
Sunday, May 10th - Mother's day brings a water Moon in Pisces, one with heightened emotions and strong desires. The Moon swims through Jupiter's domicile so she answers to him. Fortunately, he's exalted in Cancer but this sum of Moon + Pisces + North Node + Exalted Jupiter makes me think of the phrase "lots of." Lots of what? That depends on circumstance of course. Things like lots of love, lots of feels, lots of tears, lots of nostalgia, lots of imagination, lots of emotive union with those who support us in this life.
Consider:
- Letting the tears roll and the music move you
- If you're having a hard time expressing your feelings in words, find a piece of art or a song that does it for you and share in that way.
