Road Trip: Asbury Park, NJ

Two hearts are better than one.
-Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen bucket list trip with my momma
Road trip playlist had hits from The Boss and more appearances
Like Beach Boys, Taylor Swift, Tom Petty sing alongs

The Stone Pony was closed for 9 more minutes
We waited outside on the street by the beach and I took pictures of the door
While a child of mine complained

We all marveled at the art, all the hearts
Public Love Project on the fence by the beach
Many versions of street art by my fave Philly artist, Amberella

What am I radiating?
What is true for me?
How lucky to wonder these thoughts.

Industrial buildings against the beach backsplash feel eerie
But the lighting takes my breath away
The juxtaposition of metal and sky captivate

They sell Rum Buckets at the beach club
A man bright red roasts in the sun on the deck
I marvel at the colors dancing in the day

Inside the massive old theater
The gift shop wares make me smile
The textures provide something extra

Cleaner beaches than I'm used to in Wildwood
But like Philly, I've grown used to it
Either way, the Atlantic is still there

Asbury Park is a city of sticker collages
I think of all the people who had a hand in this art
Left behind as a mosaic by the beach

I learn the legend of Madam Marie lives on
I love this mural so much I want to jump inside
I think about the Life Coach part and when that was added

I have an Amberella heart in my bedroom
KEEP GOING
I read it everyday

Abundant flower boxes
Tropical life of greens and pinks
Along the boards by the sand

Seaside memories
For just an hour drive and the price of lunch
Adventure day with my family and momma, bucket list item checked
